In 1962, when Durango’s population numbered 10,000 and “across town” was only a half mile away, Dr. William Krauser moved from a busy practice in Colorado Springs to establish the first orthopedic practice in the Four Corners: Durango Orthopedics. In the past 50 years much has changed, but the practice’s commitment to providing the community with the best orthopedic care available has not.

Durango Orthopedics offers orthopedic sub-specialty care for bone and joint problems. Our physicians are skilled in the latest techniques for diagnosis and treatment, including MRI, arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery, and joint replacement. We provide medical care for acute injuries, bone and joint conditions and degenerative conditions related to aging. Our physicians and staff treat musculoskeletal problems resulting from sports injuries, accidents, disease processes, and the wear-and-tear of aging.

Durango Orthopedic physicians are board-certified and specialty trained to offer treatment for problems in the hand, elbow, shoulder, spine, hip, knee, ankle and foot, whether the problem is an acute injury with fractures or torn ligaments or presents with pain or functional limitations due to joint arthritis or joint degeneration.

Our Three Springs office offers complete musculoskeletal services for your entire treatment and recovery, from digital x-ray and MRI for state-of-the-art diagnosis to on-site rehabilitation when you are ready for physical therapy. In consideration of our patients our physicians offer satellite clinics in neighboring communities in Southwest Colorado and New Mexico.
